The waltz is a couples dance which has been danced throughout Europe and the New World since the 18th Century. The waltz originated around Vienna in the 17th Century. There is a colorful history online.
The Hambo is a Scandinavian dance. It features a promenade step and a turn in which the partners' out of sync steps give it a wonderful lilt. It is somewhat challenging, but a wonderful couples dance.
